The role

We are on the lookout for an experienced developer to join our team in Frome, Somerset. In this role, you will be working closely with our team of developers, designers and project manager to help contribute on our website and software projects. You’ll have the chance to work on a wide variety of website projects ranging from bespoke marketing websites and Laravel applications, to custom media & publishing platforms.

Responsibilities

• Building custom WordPress websites for our wonderful clients (including custom WP themes and plugins).
• Developing/supporting custom Laravel applications that work alongside WordPress, or as standalone products.
• Provide support and mentoring to junior developers in our team.
• Help improve and shape our development processes and productivity.
• Develop our internal digital projects.

Experience

Must have:

• Minimum of 5 years agency experience.
• Solid understanding of front-end technologies.
• Excellent understanding of OOP (object-oriented programming)
• Demonstrable knowledge with MVC frameworks like Laravel.
• Strong experience working with WordPress and developing custom WordPress themes & plugins.
• Knowledge of security & website performance best practices.
• Excellent knowledge of version control tools (eg Bitbucket or Git).

Nice to have:

• Experience using Tailwind CSS.
• Experience with modern JavaScript frameworks such as React, Angular or Vue.
• Good understanding of on-site/technical SEO.
